About me

I am Andrei Nikolskii (Andi N.), a contemporary artist. In my work, I combine the academic tradition of painting with a contemporary artistic language, exploring the human being through the image of the nude.

For me, the body is not merely a form. It is a way of speaking about emotions, inner states, vulnerability, and strength. In each image, I strive to convey not external beauty, but authenticity — that subtle boundary between the physical and the emotional where true depth is born.

I primarily work in oil on canvas, paying special attention to light, the plasticity of form, and composition. A classical foundation allows me to construct the figure with precision, while a contemporary approach to color and symbolism adds layers of meaning and space for interpretation.

My paintings are a dialogue — between the artist and the model, between the artwork and the viewer, between the external image and the inner world of a person.

In my work, I explore:
• the fragility and strength of human nature,
• the passage of time and transformation,
• emotional states reflected in posture, gesture, and gaze.

Each canvas is an attempt to capture a moment of sincerity and reveal beauty in its natural state.
